Heritage Resorts, Mauritius

Hello my dear travelers!! Today I want to share with all of you my experience visiting the south coast of Mauritius. Believe it or not, but as small as you see Mauritius is on the map, it is a fairly large island.

The truth is that Robert and I were very excited to continue exploring this beautiful country with a locally famous chain of hotels called Heritage Resorts.

After leaving Anahita we headed to the Disneyland Of Mauritius: ‘The World of Heritage” where we estimated to arrive at noon and immediately have lunch. After lunch we took a tour of the hotel in a cute pink golf cart to check out their incredible facilities.

During the tour, we understood why it is the Disneyland of Mauritius, since they have not one but 3 properties, side by side: Heritage Le Telfair, Heritage Awali and Heritage Villas. We stayed at Heritage Awali and wandered amongts the other two.

However, what I found to be impressive about World Heritage is that any of its activities and incredible facilities can be enjoyed by anyone staying at any of its 3 properties. If you ever have the opportunity to visit Heirtage Resorts in Mauritius you cannot miss your change to visit the following:

  • Visit the famous Chateau of Bel Ombre: an enchanting former sugar plantation style house, set in typical French Gardens. The perfect place to give a twist of culture to your holidays in paradise.

  • The Bel Ombre region is bordered by a mountain range and national park, the Black River Gorges. In the Domaine de Bel Ombre there is a 1300 hectare nature reserve. For all “ourdoors lovers’ this is the perfect place because there’s great activities you can do like discovering the flora and fauna while trekking, quad-biking or a photo safari with a trained Mauritian wildlife expert. I remember this was super fun since that day we saw many wild animals, found a lovely waterfall and we could see one of the best views of the coast line.

  •  Infinity Blue: This is the World Heritage beach club which is a super cool place, full of fun and lots of outdoor games. We spent here one of the sunsets where we enjoyed a lovely atmosphere, with delicious drinks and snacks.

  • Cocoshack: I think this is something that all hotels should have. It is a nice cute little place in the middle of the beach with swings where you can relax and be able to look for your daily vitamins: Yes pure natural coconut water!

  •  Ice cream shop: Another thing that every hotel should have!!! A cute little shop of homemade ice cream that’s all 100% natural. It was my favorite spot that I kept returning to! Every day I went for my ice cream and the lady already recognized me lol.

  • Seven Colors Spa: Definitely one of the most beautiful spas I have visited and also one of the best I have ever received. I started my treatments with a bubbles and flowers bath, which was followed by a coconut scrub of my entire body, finished with an amazing massage. I swear I thought it was a dream, but Heritage spoiled me!

  •  Lunch in the sea: Maybe you already saw the photo! It’s not by the sea we are talking about, but in the sea! Without a doubt one of my favorite moments that I experience with Robert. The food was not only super delicious with a variety of tasty and healthy salads, but being able to have lunch and enjoy the refreshing Mauritian waters at the same time was incredible!

I hope you liked this post and hope you can enjoy someday about the Heritage world!

Xoxo

Marcy

This resort sounds fantastic! How fun that they have their own ice cream shop. Also, their seven color spa sounds amazing. Coconut scrub? This is the first time I hear about coconut scrub. I try to insorporate coconut into my skincare routine and this one definitely goes on my list to try. Hopefully I can find it somewhere local here. Beautiful photos and glad you had a good time.

I’ve always heard Mauritius is lovely and have had it on my bucket list for a while. It definitely looks like tropical paradise! Was it very humid there like the maldives (my honeymoon was there and I’ve heard they can be quite similar)? The hotel property looks very relaxing and luxurious as well. It looks like there is definitely plenty to do and see! Thanks for sharing!

Regions are always so much larger than they appear on a map. I definitely thought Mauritius was a small place; it’s so good to know it’s not! Infinity Blue: and Cocoshack are 2 definite places I would check out with my fiancé. We both love outdoor games and also naturally sourced foods and beverages. Thanks for sharing Heritage Resorts with us! I’m obsessed with all it has to offer!
