Creo que oficialmente necesito retirarme del personaje de “dejé mi trabajo corporativo para viajar por el mundo”.Lo exprimí durante una década. Ya estuvo bueno. No es que viajar haya dejado de gustarme, pero mis prioridades cambiaron un poco.Ahora me emociona surfear, jugar tennis, boxear, intentar handstands… básicamente cualquier actividad capaz de destruir mi ego en menos de una hora.Porque qué aburrido llegar a los 30s y decidir que ya sabemos quiénes somos y en qué somos buenos cuando hay miles de cosas que no hemos ni probado.Welcome to the rebrand:Mujer en sus 30s colecciona hobbies innecesariamente difíciles porque, aparentemente, vivir tranquila no le genera suficiente emoción.¿Soy mala? Perfecto.
¿Me saca de mi zona de confort? Excelente.
¿Puedo humillarme públicamente? SIGN ME UP.Pero fuera de broma, hay algo demasiado bonito en volver a ser principiante de adulto.Empezar de cero. Suck at something. Frustrarte. Volver a intentarlo. Y ver cómo algo que parecía imposible, poco a poco deja de serlo❤️

I think it’s officially time to retire the whole “I quit my corporate job to travel the world” character.I milked that one for almost 10 years. Enough. Lleva cash porque puedes encontrar cosas hermosas y únicas. Yo compré este sombrero artesanal acá 🎩🥐 Esta panadería es otro nivel: @etma_bakery. No te la saltes.🚃 Súbete al famoso Tram 28, el icónico tranvía amarillo que recorre algunos de los barrios más bonitos de Lisboa. Ojo con los carteristas dentro del tram.🩰 Tienes que pasar por @flabelus. Sus bailarinas son demasiado lindas; mis favoritas son las de mesh.📚 Explora @lxfactory, un antiguo complejo industrial convertido en un espacio creativo lleno de cafés, restaurantes, tiendas y librerías. Entra a Ler Devagar, su famosa librería.🍴 Cena en @pomme_eatery. Se hizo aún más conocido después de que Harry Styles comiera acá.🍸 Drinks en @hotelvalverdelisboa. Tiene un jardín/terraza escondido súper cute en pleno centro.🍦 Prueba @myka_greek. Me volví adicta a este Greek frozen yogurt.🌯 Desayuna en @neighbourhood.lisbon te recomiendo el breakfast burrito!🍳 Otro spot deli para desayuno o almuerzo: @dobeco_padaria ame el gazpacho y lychee tea🐙 Come comida portuguesa tradicional en Estrela d’Ouro. Porque no puedes irte de Lisboa sin probar la comida local.🛌 ¿Dónde dormir? Si buscas algo céntrico, moderno, relativamente económico y con elevador (importantísimo en Lisboa 😂) recomiendo @numastays. Yo pagué alrededor de $150 la noche.

Learn to surf as an adult😂🏄‍♀️It’s soooooooooooooooooo humbling in sooooo many ways!!It’s been almost two months since I started my longboarding program with @ripcurlschoolofsurf and @jonnideaker, and I’m not gonna lie… I have absolutely NO idea how Johnny still has the patience to deal with me🫣But hey, I can finally stand up, turn, and even cross-step! Next: noseriding 🤞🏼At this point, Johnny deserves a medal, and probably a vacation from me🏅🌊Little Marcy would have never imagined she’d grow up to love surfing❤️

Aprende a surfear de adulta 🏄‍♀️😂Es taaaaaaaaaaan humillante de taaaaaantas maneras hahahYa llevo casi dos meses desde que empecé mi programa de longboard con @ripcurlschoolofsurf y @jonnideaker, y no les voy a mentir… NO tengo la menor idea de cómo Johnny todavía tiene paciencia conmigo jajaPero bueno, ¡por fin logré pararme, hacer giros y hasta dar mis primeros pasos cruzados sobre la tabla! Próximo objetivo: llegar a la punta de la tabla para colgar mis 5 o 10 dedos🤞🏼A estas alturas, Johnny se merece una medalla, un aumento de sueldo y probablemente unas vacaciones de mí🏅🌊La Marcy de pequeña jamás se hubiera imaginado que algún día le encantaría surfear❤️

Pensaba que Bali no era para mí, cuando quizás lo que no era para mí era la vida que había construido aquí.En ese momento vivía en la zona principal de Canggu, rodeada constantemente de turistas y personas que iban y venían. El tráfico, el ritmo, el movimiento constante… podía sentir cuánto estaba afectando mi sistema nervioso.Después de vivir en 6 países, he aprendido que nuestro entorno importa mucho más de lo que creemos: puede cambiar nuestra energía, nuestros hábitos e incluso las personas que atraemos.Pero antes de decidir que estás en el lugar equivocado, pregúntate: ¿realmente me he dado la oportunidad de construir la vida correcta aquí?A veces no necesitas otro país. Necesitas un nuevo entorno, nuevas rutinas, nuevas personas… una vida que se sienta más tú.Construye una vida que ames y quizás te sorprenda lo que y a quién empieza a encontrarte ahí. Cuando eliges una vida alineada contigo, dejas de perseguir conexiones y empiezas a encontrarlas naturalmente.Quizás nunca se trató solo de Bali. Quizás se trata de quién me estoy convirtiendo aquí🤍

Last year I almost left Bali. I thought Bali wasn’t for me, when maybe the life I had built there wasn’t for me.At the time, I was living in the main Canggu area, constantly surrounded by tourists and people coming and going. The traffic, the pace, the constant movement… I could feel how much my environment was affecting my nervous system.After living in 6 countries, I’ve learned that your environment matters more than we realize, it can change your energy, your habits, even the people you attract.But before deciding you’re in the wrong place, ask yourself: have I given myself the chance to build the right life here?Sometimes you don’t need a new country. You need new surroundings, new routines, new people, a life that feels more like you.Build a life you love, and you might be surprised by what — and who — starts finding you there.Maybe it was never just about Bali.
