Two nights in Bangkok with the W Hotel, Thailand

It’s about time to share my experience of the nightlife in Bangkok and what better way to do it after having stayed at the W Bangkok, located on North Sathorn Street.

Even though I had worked with the Starwood Hotels family before this was the first time I visited a W hotel and to be honest, I felt very excited!

Our itinerary was quite tight, but we were still looking forward to arrive to Bangkok after being a week in Phuket. We didn’t want to leave Thailand without having experience the nightlife in Bangkok – which by the way is one the main attractions to do during the night. Everyone I meet said it’s a must of Bangkok city. I think if we had stayed in another hotel we would have failed with our mission lol.

From the moment, we enter to the W Bangkok we immediately felt the fun and edgy vibes. We walked into their beautiful and modern lobby with purple tones and of course a great background music that immediately cheer up our mood after been traveling for 2 hours and another hour from the airport to the hotel.

We were greeted by the friendly staff who were waiting for us to take us to our room and give us a hotel tour.

As soon we enter the room we found the sweetest note from the W Bangkok team with a delicious fresh platter of mango pudding and a Thai cooked coconut – it was so yummy that we didn’t left anything.

We had the wonderful room which was incredibly modern, where the large windows transport the nature of the city to the interior, in addition to providing panoramic views. The living room has a monochromatic background, with metallic gold accents. Abstract works of art, modern furniture and daring designs, ranging from flames to innovative versions of traditional designs.

One of my favorite areas of the entire hotel was the pool with a very modern and luxurious shape of an eye that blends in perfectly with the views of the modern buildings that surround the property rooftop. What’s even cooler is that it has music inside the pool. Can you guys believe this? In the W Bangkok music plays an important part, so boring yourself its never an option.

Another of my favorite spots was the Sathorn House which is one of the most historic buildings in Bangkok that used to be a colonial mansion built in 1889 and the home of Thai national heritage. This stunning building is now part of the W Bangkok where you can find: The dining room, which is listed in the 50 best restaurants in Asia, the Couryard outdoor restaurant, the timeless destination Bar and residential style rooms for private dinners and tailor-made events.

Undoubtedly the Sathorn house it’s definitely a must if you are in Bangkok either you are staying at the hotel or not. It’s really interesting to see how this colonial building pops out from the rest of the buildings since all of them are very modern.

So here comes the mission: Pili and I continued investigating with the help of the friendly concierge where was the best place to hangout. We wanted to see a nice rooftop view  of the city so they recommended us a couple of options in where to go. Our plan was to do a skybar hopping. We end up starting where the Hangover movie was filmed, which is Sky Bar or also known as Lebua located on the 64th floor. This place is unbelievable crazy, the stunning atmosphere and spectacular views have made it a highlight of Bangkok’s nightlife, and unique creations like the well-known Hangovertini, which was created for the cast of The Hangover Part II while filming in Lebua.

If the mission of any of you is to go out in Bangkok I think you should prepare your pocket since I have to say that it is the only thing that can be expensive in Thailand: the night outs. However, you’re only in Bangkok with one of your bestie once in a lifetime, so Pili and I hit the party. We liked this place so much that we end up staying here since they have like 4 different bars inside and each of them with different atmosphere.

Now that I write this post and see my credit card details lol that’s where I remembered that night. However, the party was really good and it was worth every penny we spent.

We were a bit concerned if we were to catch up with our flight the next day since we were leaving early to Chiang Mai.

I wanna thank the W Bangkok for making our nightlife and stay in Bangkok so fun. Thank you very much for reading and I hope you enjoyed this post!

Do not miss my next post to see if we can achieve our adventure in Chaing Mai.

Love,

Marcy

I actually like the colonial-style architecture at the W Hotel! That was nice of the concierge to help you two find some cool hang out locations in the area. And I didn’t know about the Hangovertini haha. The night view in Bangkok looks amazing! Can’t wait to go back again <3

The cool, club like features and decor are amazing and the room looks so spacious. What a great place to hang out! I also love the contrast with the Sathorn House. It is so charming and nice that it is historic. Looks like you had fun partying too! What a great trip to Thailand! xoxo, Christine
