Never in a million years I thought I will be traveling the world and having my work feature in beautiful books after quitting my director position at Ralph Lauren. I think younger Marcy will never believe how far we have come. This hotel features the remains of a twelfth-century Franciscan monastery from France, terrace gardens in the style of Versailles, the hotel opened in 1962 with a gala attended by Zsa Zsa Gabor and Europeans most glamorous prince and princesses. It has hosted the Beatles, Whitney Houston, Cindy Crawford wedding and was the backdrop for 1965’s Thunderball, starring Sean Connery and 2006 Casino Royale starring Daniel Craig. What to do in British Virgin Islands? 🇻🇬 (Es What to do in British Virgin Islands? 🇻🇬 (Español en el primer comentario) ✈️Best time to visit: December to April 🛥️ Best way to explore is by sailing since it consist of 4 main islands and 50-some smaller islands and cays. I recommend getting a charter from @themooringsvacations & @mycaribbeancharters 🏨 For accommodation I highly recommend scouting for stunning luxury villas with @bvisir or staying is a few private islands like @cooperislsndbvi 🗺️ Things to do in BVI: • Visit the Baths in Virgin Gorda for snorkeling and hiking. Make sure to hike from the caves to Devils Bay. • Visit the White Bay in Jost Van Dyke is an ideal spot for a swim and a lounge in the sand. • Visit the stunning uninhabited islet Sandy Spit. • Visit Cane Garden Bay in Tortola. • Visit the stunning private Guana island with seven white powder-sand beaches and 850 acres of tropical forest, mountains, hills, and valleys. • Go hiking to Scrub island. • Dive to The Wreck of the Rhone with @sail.caribbean.divers • Visit the famous floating pirate bar Willy T. • Hike the Norman Island trails for spectacular 360 views of the British Virgin Islands, also great for snorkeling and make sure to watch the sunset from Benures Bay. • Walk around Road Town to get a taste of the laid-back charm the Caribbean. AfrikaBurn experience Part 2 We finally made to t AfrikaBurn experience Part 2 We finally made to the Burn after waiting in line for almost 3 hours 😜 After picking our wristband we obviously stop for the Angel Virgin dance to then look for our camp: The Flying Dutchman When we arrived to the camp we got ready to put our lights and venture around deep playa. My Highlights: ✨The night time is one my favorites things. For me is absolutely amazing to see all these amazing structures and arts with neon lights that only caught my attention and curiosity to explore each of them. 👩🏼‍🍳I was one of the kitchen leaders in my camp and my team and I successfully cooked a delicious vegan meal: chickpea tacos and everyone loved it. 🛻Since this burn is so small you don’t need a bike. Your options to move around is either walking or ask for a ride from any mutant vehicles /art cars. 🎶 Some of the best parties were actually in my camp The Flying Dutchman. 🌅 Another highlight for me in AfrikaBurn were the magical sunsets. Each day was so special and unique.honestly Africa has some of the best sunsets in the world. 🎡 I highly recommend taking one day for yourself and explore on your own. This will give you time to understand and be grateful for this moment and this magical place. 🔥Another favorite thing at this burn were the fires. The fires here are probably the most controlled fires in the world. You’re probably asking why are they burning all these amazing sculptures and artwork after so much work. Well basically to teach us that everything in this life in temporary and nothing is forever. One of the traditions that people do is take out their clothes and run naked as a form of liberation. My AFRIKABURN experience Part 1 ❤️‍🔥🇿🇦✈️🎶 ••• This is the Burning Man version of Africa taking place in South Africa. I travelled all the way from Costa Rica to live this amazing experience for the first time. Last year I attended the main burn in Nevada and this gave me an idea of ​​what to expect.. but honestly they are SO DIFFERENT. ••• I decided to do this trip with my friend Tatty when she visited me in CR for New Years. We arrived 2 days before the burn in CapeTown to meet with other friends that were in town. The last day in CT I hired a local artist that makes amazing braids and this was the result. (She charge me $20 to braid my hair) Btw will be doing a separate video of the approx cost to Afrika burn soon. •• YES, this small RV is our house for a week in the desert…I know its extremely small but tbh is super spacious and I literally slept much better here than the RV I had last year in the main burn which was double the size. ••• Must of the people pick up the RV, go grocery shopping and then go to the burn on the same day. We decided not to that because is so tiring. We slept in Paarl which is on the way to the burn. I mean just receiving the RV + the briefing took us 3 hours + 2 hours of grocery shopping. Have you heard of AfrikaBurn? 💥🔥🎶🇿🇦 Have you heard of AfrikaBurn? 💥🔥🎶🇿🇦 (Español en el primer comentario) This is Africa’s version of Burning Man 🔥 and it’s absolutely INCREDIBLE. And to answer your question…YES, is so different to the main burn in the USA! Here are some interesting facts: ❤️‍🔥Have the same principles but culturally different. ❤️‍🔥In my opinion is way more casual and hippie than the main burn which I really loved. I felt the vibe in general is more chilled and relax in this one. ❤️‍🔥Is a smaller scale of the main burn which make it super nice because is more intimate and boutique and not that mainstream. This is considered how Burning man use to be many years ago. ❤️‍🔥I would say most of the people attending to AfrikaBurn are mostly Europeans, South Africans or from other African countries. I hardly saw any Americans or Latin people here. ❤️‍🔥Majority of the people attending here actually camp in tents and not RVs. Is just the thing and is part of the experience. ❤️‍🔥You don’t need!or want a bike because is so small that you can walk to deep playa in 30-40 min. ❤️‍🔥After experiencing both burns I felt this one offered me a more sense of deep connection with people. ❤️‍🔥I think if you are virgin this version you probably would enjoyed more. ••• #afrikaburn #southafrica #burningman #afrikaburn2023 #burningmanfestival #burningmanart #burningmanvibes #electronicmusic #burner #burnergirls #southafricatravel
