Salvatore Ferragamo Multiplaza Pacific, Panama

I remember being in Nairobi, Kenya when I received an email from my Salvatore Ferragamo family asking me when I was going back to Panama because they wanted to have me for their opening of their new Multiplaza Pacific store.

Of course it was a perfect timing for me because it was only a few days after my arrival so of course I said YES. After an incredible experience these 5 months the truth is that one of the things that I was looking forward to upon my return was to attend to some “fashion dates,” play dress up, and search for the perfect look for that night.

When I was sent the different options to choose I really struggled because I wanted to wear them all lol I even asked for your opinions in IG Stories. In the end I decided to go for the pink dress that I thought was super classic, elegant and feminine. I think the color was what captivated me especially for the spring season.

Panama is a very nice and fun city especially for girls because there are always so many great events to attend. Panama has become one of the most important markets in Latin America for fashion. Any luxury brand expanding to the Latin American market has opened a shop in Panama just as with Mexico and Brazil, since this is a very influential market.

The Salvatore Ferragamo store is located in one of the best and most exclusive malls in Panama City: Multiplaza Pacific. The celebration of this event was because it was the official re-inauguration party of its new store in the mall and the launch of its new spring-summer 2017 collection. Although the brand was already in the mall since 2007 they decided to expand to a more bigger space that still remains in the Luxury Avenue section.

As for my date for this event I took one of my best friends: Pilar Sinclair who is one of the most recognized interior designers in Panama. When we both entered the store we were captivated by the new space as it is super elegant, luxurious and quite refined. The boutique offers both men’s and women’s collections. But as we walked in we went to the right to see the fun section where all the bags, belts, shoes, scarves, and the pret porter collection is.

Something super interesting during the event was to observe some of the craftsmen of the brand where he showed the behind the scenes design process of the luxurious Italian brand.

However, the best part of all certainly for me was seeing some familiar faces I haven’t seen for a while. My big surprise and the best part of my night was to see a friend who I hadn’t seen in person for many years. I only see her on Instagram hahaha my friend Pilar Alvarez (Yes I have many Pilar’s in my life lol) The last time I saw my friend Pili was in Acapulco Mexico for the anniversary of Vogue Latin America magazine like 2-3 years ago.

I remember that I met her on that trip and we both automatically clicked and became friends as well with her husband Mauricio. As many of you know I was born in Costa Rica and Mauricio was also from Costa Rica so the entire trip we were doing Costa Rican jokes.

Truly, seeing my friend Pilar was one of the highlights of my night, even though we could not see each other anymore because she lives in Miami and the next day she was leaving to Peru very early, so at least I had a few hours with her and I hope to visit her in Miami soon.

I hope you liked this post and if any of you come to Panama please do not hesitate to let me know so I can gladly give you my best recommendations on where to go, to buy, and where to eat!

Xoxo

Marcy

Thank you for sharing your recap of this fun night with Ferragamo! Ferragamo is actually one of the first luxury brands I ever learned of because my mom is such a fan. One of my most prized posessions to this day are my black Ferragamo heels even from sophomore year in college! How amazing that the brand has opened such a big and elegant space in Panama! I never realized that Panama was such an influential market, but it completely makes sense! The dress you chose for the event was feminine, classy, and totally classic Ferragamo style. Great pick hun!

Ferragamo is such a well known brand and very luxurious. I love their craftsmanship on their leather goods and their clothes are also beautiful. You picked an amazing dress that is timeless and chic. How exciting that they opened a store in Panana and that not only you go to attend but saw your old friend from years ago there! I love attending store openings because you get to view items before anyone else and the opportunity to try things on, when the store is probably the most immaculate! Sometimes you even get to meet some of the most important people to the company since it’s the very first time to open. So glad you were able to see your friend you hadn’t seen in a while! I also had no idea Panama had such a presence in the fashion industry. I almost want to visit for that reason alone. You look so stunning in your sleeveless blazer dress!
