Nthambo Tree Camp: affordable authentic safari experience

Hello my dear travelers! How is November treating you? It is incredible that we are already at the end of the year, this year has flown by so fast!

Today I am launching a new destination on my blog and this is another super popular destination for safaris and one top of my favourite countries to go on vacation because it offers an infinite variety of things to do:  the beautiful South Africa!!

I don’t know if you guys remember but in November of last year I had made my adventures in Kenya, and it is incredible that almost a year later I am still traveling throughout Africa.

After Madagascar Robert and I came to explore South Africa with Air Austral to capture content for their Instagram and this time we were also working on a campaign with the South African Tourism board @meetsouthafrica and the local airline Fly Airline @fly_airlink to visit each corner of South Africa.

Our first safari destination was the famous Kruger National Park with Sun Destinations in nThambo Tree Camp located in the Klaserie Private Nature Reserve which shares unfenced borders with the Kruger National Park.

Nthambo Tree Camp is an ecological and intimate camp that puts a great emphasis on enjoying the beautiful views and abundant wildlife with a small camp designed to provide super personal attention to its guests. Nthambo Tree Camp has only 5 chalets with a capacity for 2 people each, which creates an intimate safari experience.  The accommodation is unique as they are tree houses in the form of tents to give the feeling of a super authentic safari, and that is indeed one of the most unique accommodation options in the Kruger.

Each room has rustic finishings to provide that authentic vibe in the middle of nature, built with wooden floors, canvas walls, a thatched roof and a terrace, all of which overlooks the endless plains in front of the camp overlooking the mountain range Drakensberg in the distance.

The nThambo Tree Camp facilities include a main area, which houses a comfortable lounge and bar under a thatched roof. The dining room, which has a large table and a wine rack, is located next to the outdoor boma fireplace, ideal for an evening drink around the fire. There is also a pool area for those hot days where elephants sometimes come to drink water (we were lucky to have giraffes wonder right up close!)

I remember all the meals were really exceptional and not to mention the staff that were super friendly and attentive to us.

Many people think that going on safari can be extremely expensive and in my previous experiences I have to say I have stayed in extremely luxurious and expensive places. But what I like about nThambo is that it is a very economic safari that offers prices from $280 per person including all meals, safaris and walks, teas and coffees. To be honest we thought its an incredible deal to be able to experience a super authentic and unique stay!

What impressed us the most was that in our first safaris with nThambo we managed to see the big 5. When in previous months in Kenya and Tanzania to see the big five took us more than a month! Honestly nThambo exceeded many of our expectations and I truly believe that it is an excellent option for those people looking to live a safari experience in their unique, authentic life very affordable.

Many thanks to Sun Destination for making our first safari in South Africa super memorable!

Do not miss more about my trip in the Kruger National Park.

xoxo

I am blown away by the Nthambo Treehouse! How amazing is this experience and one that should be on everyone’s bucket list! I seriously would love to do this, the only downside is that it’s very intimate and not for my entire family. Maybe if my hubbie and I travel alone sometime. =) What I love about this place is that it is so close to all these animals! So unbelievable and majestic! I love all your travel photos and experiences. xoxo, Christine
