LOOKS Travel Diaries

Napa Valley, California

MarcyYu_NapaValley2

Hello strangers, long time no seen! How was your Easter week? Hope you all spend the holidays with the people you loved the most. As for my self I planned another adventure back in California but this time to a new city: San Francisco.

SF is one of the cities I planned to visit since my last b-day in November but unfortunately I cheated SF with Playa del Carmen (Yeah I’m a beach lover) so definitely SF was on the top of my bucket list for this year.

Actually my plans for Eater was travelling to Peru for the b-day of one of my best friends but because of work I couldn’t plan in advance anything so I was not able to join my friends at last minute. So of course I was not staying in Panama for Easter. You guys know me I’m a true traveler and any holidays there is I will try my best to invest in going somewhere new so SF was the easiest. Patty my childhood neighbor planned to go there so I join her. Besides after so much Caribbean escapes definitely a California trip was must than necessary.

Like I mentioned before I planned San Francisco since last year for my b-day so all my research and notes was extremely helpful for us in this trip since we already knew all the places we wanted to visit and Napa Valley was one of them. Two reasons were enough for me to convince me to visit Napa Valley: is one of the best regions for wine tasting (I’m a true white wine lover as well for my friend Patty) and you can do hot air balloons rides.  Even that I had done this before about a year ago in California as well but in San Diego I wanted to experience it again in a different location and at a different hour since last time was during sunset.

During our SF visit I was planning to meet a couple of friends that lived there and since the moment I let them know they plan to come to Napa with us. They pick us up at the hotel and we did almost 2 hours ride in car to Napa from the city. The entire road we were catching up that we didn’t even feel the 2 hours ride. It was exactly about a year ago since I didn’t see them in one of my bets friends wedding in Costa Rica.

As soon we arrived to Napa we wanted to have enough fuel for our wine tasting so our first stop was a delicious Eastern brunch at the Auberge du Soleil Hotel with the most amazing view from the terrace.

Our wine tasting tour began this way: Domaine Carneros, Peju, Beringer, Castello Di Amorosa, Domaine Chandon, Meritage Resort and all of them were such a delicious drunk experience hahahaha

We also visit the little Calistoga town for a sugar delight: ice cream. And we also went to see the little shops were some of us did a “small shopping”.  When we arrived to the Meritage Resort & Spa was almost 8pm and we were really tired so we went straight to bed since we had the Napa Valley Balloons at 6:30 am the next day.

If any of you are trying to look for a balloon ride and still don’t know which I really recommend this one because they are professionals and you will feel very safe and they offer a really good price. The cost of the ride included a pre small breakfast before the ride and a brunch after the ride both at Domaine Chandon where was the meeting point.

As for the ride I already had experience this before but I felt very anxious and excited this second time too. I think no matter how many times you do it you will always feel like this since is such great adrenaline and one of the most amazing experience you could live in your life. Really just ask my friend Patty after she really though she will hate it and she really enjoyed it.

After the balloon ride we went to the Meritage Resort & Spa to just relax and enjoy of the beautiful installations. The hotel has also a wine tasting winery, they have a bowling room (very fun!!) an amazing pool and terrace with view directly to the vineyard and have the best spa ever. The another great thing was  the location since is very close from the outlet mall 🙂

I hope you enjoyed my Napa Valley diary and stay tuned for my next travel posts.

Happy Sunday!!

xx
