LOOKS Travel Diaries

La Digue, Seychelles

Sadly we have come to the last destination we visited in Seychelles: the famous La Digue.

Famous because it is where all the countless marketing campaigns of Seychelles come out. If you have ever seen a pamphlet campaign of this paradise believe me it was taken in this place.

So it was more than obvious that we could not leave Seychelles without visiting La Digue. Even thought it was a little difficult because everything was full the tourism board managed to get us a stay at Le Relax Luxury Lodge which is a relatively new hotel in the area.

When the helicopter drop off  at La Digue I could immediately feel a very relaxed atmosphere than the other main islands. We are talking about  non paved roads and virtually no motorized car more than some taxis.

In fact, the main transportation method on this island is the bicycle (my favorite). It is definitely a place to return to nature as a jet-set-tour paradise.

The most famous beach of all sources Anse Source D’Argent which is inside the park. The water is of crystal clear turquoise with a background of pure rocks. Surely you’ve seen these photos a thousand times, but it’s really out of this world. I recommend you go early and it fills up a lot of tourists since it is the most famous beach in the area.

Even though Anse Source D’Argent is the most popular beach my favorite certainly was another one who is on this same island called Grand Anse. It is my new favorite beach in the world and it really is one of the most beautiful beaches I have visited in the world. The water is perfect as far as its temperature, different shades of crystalline blue, super soft sand with no rock in the sea more than in the background than pure rocks that look like metals as if it had  Photoshop, but I swear that everything is real.

This one is a bit further away than the other and the bike path is quite long and difficult especially upon return and there is a quite steep part which literally I had to get off the bike and walk that part. Even though it is a bit long I think it is worth 100% because it is a dream this beach!

The hotel where we stayed the truth is quite new, but has quite comfortable and spacious rooms.

Unfortunately in this trip we did not have time to do Praslin but for sure this is an excuse to return right!! Really, Seychelles is a magical country that will have a very special place in my heart.

Love,

Marcy

The beach looks gorgeous and peaceful and I would love to visit one day. I also like being active on vacations so I love that you used bicycle as your main transportation. Such a great way to get in your excercise and the bike is adorable too 🙂

Oh Marcy this place looks like a dream! It’s truly the perfect beach and destination to relax your troubles away. I’ve yet to experience a beach with crystal clear water to be honest, but then again i’ve haven’t really been to anywhere that’s known for their beautiful scenery and water views. I can’t believe in one of the photos you took of the rocks, for a second i thought it was a photo of a painting because the rock formation was so soft and had a really interesting rhythm to it.
What an amazing place to stay and vacation at, I truly hope you had an amazing time and experience Marcy, because it looks amazing. Something i have to put on my now bucket list!
