Fanjove Private Island

Continuing my adventure in @wonderfultanzania we have come to an end to our last destination in this beautiful country. If you ever heard the last is always better? Well let me tell you that this time it was. What better way to explore Tanzania’s last destination on a private island? Sounds incredible right?

We discovered this beautiful island via our friends from Coastal Aviation which was the airline we flew to get to this paradise. They told us about Essential Destinations which is a group of lodges around Tanzania including Fanjove Private Island. Fanjove is a small private island hotel that has just 6 eco-bandas. Each eco-banda is distributed throughout the island to ensure privacy in nature, and to enjoy the starry sky at night. All eco-bandas are made of wood and each one has 2 floors where the second floor has a balcony to enjoy the view of the beach, sunset or even be awakened by a beautiful sunrise.

The hotel’s ideology is for you to enjoy every moment and just disconnect from the real world. It was a bit difficult for me because this meant no 24 hour wifi for me at all lol. Although the main dinner room have wifi for me it was good to just disconnect from my electronics for a while. Sometimes I feel that for being 24/7 on wifi we miss many things so a small détox is always good for everyone.

Many people think that being on a private island can be boring, but let me tell you that for me it never was. The feeling of having an island for yourself, enjoying the crystal clear waters, the white sand, the sunsets, the delicious food was really the best way to enjoy this destination.

Fanjove Private Island offers many activities, among them: snorkelling, watching dolphins, kayaking, visiting the sand banks, etc.

If you could have the opportunity to go to a private island what would be the things you would bring with you? Leave me a comment below.

Thank you for reading! Soon I will be visiting a new destination any guess where? To give you a small clue I’m heading to an Indian ocean island. Happy Friday everyone!

Love,

Marcy

I have never heard of the term eco-banda before, but I love the concept. As I grow older, I value privacy so much more on our trips. The idea of having your own eco-banda property with so much seclusion and privacy is super appealing. It reminds me of my honeymoon where my husband and I had a villa on the water. While there were a few properties in the nearby vicinity, each villa and water surrounding it was so fast that it felt like our own private island. I imagine your experience was like this. And I too would agree, it’s nice to disconnect from the wifi and simply relax. Plus, it sounds like the hotel offers so many great activities when you are ready to be more active. Will definitely keep this property in mind for future vacations 🙂

How gorgeous is Fanjove private island!! I adore the individual eco-bandas, they look so cozy and also a part of the nature. I would absolutely die to come here and just unplug from the rest of the world, no social media, no emails, just the crystal clear ocean, nature and me!! You look amazing in those swimsuits!!

Tanzania sounds so intriguing and so far-away, and it’s definitely something incredible. I could even guess, how beautiful this place is. I really appreciate those tiny moments, when you can just disconnect yourself from the world and enjoy every single moment of life. I don’t think it can be boring, I love being alone or surrounded only by the loved ones, so I would definitely prefer a private island to the big city, haha!
And those natural colours all around. How can anyone get bored? This is just a true paradise! So peaceful and so beautiful!

I am always looking forward to these travel posts!! Your choice in swimwear is perfect, and I can almost feel the ocean breeze and the scent of saltwater in the air. The photos are that good 🙂

  8. Great views and I adore your swimsuit. This private island is a dream! So beautiful. This spot is just picturesque!
When I go away, I usually spend one or 2 days disconnected to anything other than google maps. I try not to touch my phone. When I first went to Asia, I only bought a local simcard for a cheap phone that didn’t have data and went around for 3 months. Honestly, with blogging, I couldn’t do that now, but wouldn’t it be so nice to disconnect for that long and not be phased? lol

Haha, yes, a social media detox is always good and especially if you’re in a place like that! What I’d bring to a private island? Do I need anything except drinking water? Haha. Maybe a pile of nice books to read, but otherwise I’d just enjoy paradise! 🙂
