Beauty Travel Diaries

Énergie de Vie, Lancôme

As many of you know I love to travel and discover new places; It is my new job for almost 2 months. Although I love traveling one of my biggest concerns has always been the care of my skin. To be honest, I started late with the subject of skin care since before I did not use any creams or products, I did not even go to the dermatologist. As I grew up I started to accumulate grains in my face since in my previous job I also had to travel a lot.

There were many reasons that caused acne, among them was stress, poor diet, fatigue, dryness, constant travel, tiredness, not sleeping well, etc … So gradually I was learning to take care of my skin, moisturize, use masks, get facials and even go to the dermatologist once a month.

Traveling was always something that I did as a girl with my family every year when we went on vacation, while for my work I was constantly traveling over 9 years, including every time that I had vacations or free days. (Yes, I have in my blood the disease called wanderlust)

One of the consequences of traveling so much is seeing how my skin suffers, in fact this was one of my biggest concerns on this trip since it was the longest I was going to be away from home. When traveling we expose our skin to dryness, to different temperature changes, even on extremely long flights the skin becomes dry and gives us symbols of fatigue, like swelling, accumulating bags under our eyes, and we even lose all energy to shine.

When I started taking care of my skin the products I always used were more dermatological products. In fact I rarely used large brands of the beauty houses since I am not a fan of investing so much money in them unless I know that they worked for my skin type or that someone took time to explain the benefits and how to apply them, etc …

In fact when organizing this adventure to Africa I wanted to take with me some special products that would help me to revive my skin and keep it moisturized, especially since I was expecting a super long flight from Panama to Kenya where it took me almost 2 days to arrive. Also because I would be traveling constantly within Africa. The product I was looking for was from Lancôme, from the new collection Énergie de Vie which is a treatment exactly for what I needed.

Energie de Vie comes as an energizing moisturizing stimulus for your skin that leaves a radiant finish providing a smooth skin. It is made from natural ingredients such as Goji Berries (antioxidants), French Melissa (fighting inflammation and oxidative stress), and Gentian (a powerful energizing action) to energize your skin with a luminous finish and revitalization.

The products that make up this line are 3:

  1. The Smoothing & Plumping Pearly Lotion: smoothing and revitalizing lotion to wake the skin in the morning from dull, tired dehydrated skin. Contains translucent beads that moisturize the skin.
  1. The Smoothing & Glow Boosting Liquid Care: Concentrated as a serum and moisturizing as a cream. It contains active moisturizing, antioxidant and energizing ingredients that contribute to the skin’s luminosity, freshness, revitalizing and insulating effect. Despite its high concentration of moisturizing agents – between 2 or 3 times higher than usual – it is not greasy but rather gives a feeling of freshness.
  1. The Overnight Recovery Sleeping Mask: This will help you revitalize your skin overnight for an intense recovery from fatigue. Upon awakening, the skin will be deeply hydrated and recovered with a healthier and radiant look.

Of the 52 days that I have been in this adventure along with Énergie de Vie I have taken 18 flights, I have done 27 safaris of 4-5 hours each day in different places and temperatures, my skin looks much better than before as it looks much more alive. My skin is much more moisturized although it has been exposed to a lot of dust on the safaris and the constant early rising in the mornings (5am for each safari to be exact) I have had a lot of accumulated fatigue that this has helped me to recover. Believe it or not, I thought my traveler life was going to be more relaxed than my previous job, but I’ve worked more than I expected, hahaha. I think the change did not go as expected, but I have to admit that it’s better than being in a 4-wall office.

In fact it is impressive that now I dare to live without makeup. Of all the time I have been using this treatment, I have almost never used makeup and it is because this product has really helped me to rehabilitate my skin with a healthier and more natural look.

Not just any woman dares to walk without makeup, especially if she has skin problems. I encourage all those girls to want to give a different look to their skin without giving up their lifestyle to try this treatment. I assure you that the payment of your bills to the dermatologist and frequent facial treatments will be saved by this 3-step treatment.

For those living in Panama this treatment can be found in Felix B Maduro.

Have a nice day travellers!

Love

Marcy

Thanks for the review! With weather changes always fluctuating, it’s good to know what’s out there!

  5. Such a great post. I also have problem skin with lots of travel, lack of sleep, a lot less fitness than I used to do when I was working corporate. I never used to wear anything other than eyeliner and often feel the need to cover my terrible skin. I’ll have to check these products out. Enjoy your travel job! 🙂 Usually it means working around the clock instead of something stable like 9-5, but take advantage as much as possible. I hope you make some incredible memories. 🙂

What a marvellous adventure you are and having flown 24 times this year (I know, it’s 11th of January…) it really takes a toll on your skin! I think I’ll give Lancome a go as I don’t care that much about if a product is meant to be for male or female, as long as the skin type is correct. 🙂
