I’m starting to like more the personal blog post thing so to put more spice to this I want to share 30 fun things you guys did not know about me so you can get to know a little more. I have to say many of these things probably not even my mom, my sisters, best friends or ex boyfriends know about:
- Anthrophobia: When I was little I was afraid of people so I used to hide from them.
- Dinner outfit: I like to go to dinner in my pajamas when I travel lol.
- I was in jail: I swear I did not commit any crime and it was only for less than 24 hours! Turns out I was illegal in Panama. By that time, I was not yet a resident and did not have my entry stamp to the country. But this was a mistake in migration because they forgot to stamp my passport. We realized this because my boyfriend at the time had his entry stamp and I did not when we had both entered the country at the same time so to be able to prove it we had to show air tickets and show his passport and then I was released. So always check for your entrance stamp to any country you visit.
- I snore: But only when I get massages and I fall asleep lol. By the way, this is something I discovered recently. I remember one of my ex-boyfriends at some point told me also when I’m drunk I also snore lol but I still have not managed to check if it’s true.
- 40 countries: I recently did a brief calculation of how many countries have I visited and its only 40 countries. I thought my list would be longer but the truth is that it is not. I have many great adventures to go.
- Cheater: My mum was called several times by my school because I always cheated on my exams of English and Maths!
- I punched a boy: I swear that I’m not aggressive, but that boy really deserved that punch because he touched my boobs. But thinking about it maybe he just wanted to make sure I had boobies because I always been flat lol.
- Best legs: In my last year of school I was nominated as one of the girls in high school with the best legs which was recorded in our yearbook more than 10 years ago (Gosh I am old!!)
- Attached to my sister: When I was a teenager, my mom had this rule that if I did not go out, my sister Pamela could not go out either. I think she made this rule so I could be more social and make more friends (Sorry about this Pam)
- Ping pong master: I’m super good at ping pong but I think this is a very common thing in Asian genes right?
- I hate insects: I discovered this recently on my first trip to Africa when I stayed in a super luxurious outdoor hotel in the middle of the jungle. It turns out that at night it became one of my worst nightmares because of the number of insects that attacked my room.
- Chess master: Not really hahaha but when I was little I was in chess classes so I play chess very well!
- My greatest weakness is french fries: Certainly, something I can eat anywhere or any time of the day. I love them super crispy, salty and with ketchup.
- I have 2 nationalities: Costa Rica – Taiwanese.
- My names that you did not know: Evelyn Naranjo. Evelyn is my middle name and the only people who call me Evelyn have known me for a long time. Naranjo is my second last name inherited by my beautiful mother.
- I always forget something when I travel: Literally since I started my travel blogger life I have left some of my belongings in every hotel I visit (Robert calls them ‘Marcy’s’ Souvenirs) from oils, creams, toothbrushes, bathing suits, jackets , shoes, etc.
- I have almost a twin: My sister Pamela and I have about 11 months apart.
- I roll my eyes: My friend Robert says that whenever I do not like something I tend to roll my eyes.
- When I do not know or forget the name of something in English I called it “thing”.
- Hit by a car: When I was little I was hit by a car and I fractured my left arm and almost lost my memory.
- I’m single: Many think my boyfriend is Robert who takes most of my photos. Although we started dating when we met after the year we realized that we were better as friends and work partners.
- I lied to my mom: I once told my mom that I was going on business work trip to go with my friend Mary partying to another country. The party was so good we returned at 4am and our return flight was at 7am so we went straight to the airport. It turns out that we arrived so early that the airport was closed so we fell sleep at the airport entrance. We were picked up by security because we were blocking the entrance and there were many people waiting lol.
- Shameless travel blogger moment: in my travel blogger moments while I was taking photos in Athens the wind got my dress up and showed all my ass to all of Athens and all the tourists around. So embarrassing but at least I did not wear granny panties on that day. My friend Tatty who was taking the picture did not stop laughing.
- 30 destinations before age 30: when I turned 29 I set myself to try to explore 30 different destinations before I reached 30. I thought that one year was enough to be able to achieve it. If you ask how I am going with this? Nothing good lol it is amazing how much time it takes to know a country. So far I have been to 10 since November, but I think that the amount is not important, but that during the journey you can enjoy each destination to the maximum.
- Turned over a car: it was a miracle that I came out alive, but I remember doing a road trip from Panama to Costa Rica and a car behind us hit us and the car overturned. Thank God we all left alive, but the car did not survive.
- I have an obsession with sunglasses: I do not stop buying sunglasses. In fact, I have several of the same model in various colors lol.
- I always considered myself Panamanian: I was born just 30 minutes from the Panama border in a small town in Costa Rica called Ciudad Neilly.
- I am afraid to swim in the open sea: this evolved about a year ago in a trip I made to Greece when my friends and I went swimming to a cave without a lifeguard and for some reason my body did not resist the distance and I almost drowned. Many have recommended to take classes for swimming in the open sea or even diving and it is something that I am working on.
- I only speak 2 languages: my main language is Spanish and then English. Even though I have been in Mandarin classes I never learned to speak it fluently. I was also 6 months in Africa, but I only got a few words in Swahili.
- The trilogy: My mom decided to give her 3 daughters our first names very similar so these are the names: Mardy- Margie -Marcy.
I hope you enjoyed reading these facts as much as I liked to write them and share them with you. Happy Tuesday!

Loved getting to know a little bit more about you through this post. I also loved reading that you punched a boy for touching your boobs! Well done, lady! That’s so awesome you speak two languages. I’ve always wanted to learn another language but I’m pretty rubbish at retaining new words and on occasion maintaining an ongoing conversation so it’s pretty much an uphill climb for me haha!
