Acababa de descubrir una infidelidad en un vuelo de regreso de trabajo… y por alguna razón, en medio del aeropuerto, terminé sentada llorando frente a una monja que ni siquiera conocía.Le conté todo. But how much do we actually understand about the countries we claim to know?I’ve spent years traveling, creating content, and sharing the beauty of this planet. And I’m not going to pretend I’m above the culture I’m questioning. I’m part of it, too.But the more I travel, the more I realize how easy it is to admire a place without understanding its reality.Bali is a perfect example.Millions visit this island every year, drawn to its Instagram-worthy paradise, while elsewhere in Indonesia, deforestation, habitat destruction, and environmental degradation threaten entire ecosystems.In Kalimantan, orangutans are losing their habitats, and communities are losing the forests they depend on.While some are losing their homes, others are busy finding the perfect angle for Instagram.We have time to create beautiful content, consume it, and build businesses around these destinations. Yet somehow, finding five minutes to care about what happens to them seems like too much to ask.This isn’t about giving up travel, enjoying your vacations any less, or never posting another beautiful photograph.It’s about understanding that the places we visit aren’t just backdrops for our content. They’re home to people, wildlife, and ecosystems that deserve more than our admiration.Because loving a place for its beauty means very little if we’re indifferent to its destruction.Share this post.
