Hemos llegamos al ultimo destino de safaris en Kenia. Si, estoy súper triste que nuestra aventura de safaris en este lindo país ha llegado a su fin pero agradecida de poder haber explorado cada rincón con tantos lindos recuerdos y historias inolvidables.
Nuestra aventura en MagicalKenia no podía terminar sin visitar el famoso parque nacional Maasai Mara. Si, dejamos uno de los mejores para el final ya que esta región es una de las regiones mas encantadoras del continente africano por muchas razones:
- Es donde se encuentran los 5 grandes: el león, el leopardo, el elefante, el búfalo y el rinoceronte.
- Famoso por el rio Mara y por su fauna excepcional.
- Ha sido el escenario donde se han visto manadas de animales haciendo migración hacia el parque Nacional Serengeti en Tanzania.
- El lugar indicado para hacer paseo en globo que era una de las cosas que quería hacer en este viaje. (Si, estoy obsesionada con los paseos en globo jejeje)
Para llegar a Maasai Mara tomamos un vuelo de Safari Link desde Nariobi el cual tomo alrededor de una hora. Los costos de este parque son de $ por persona y por día.
Al aterrizar en Maasai Mara el hotel Anagama Mara se encargo de recogernos en el aeropuerto para llevarnos directo al hotel.
Anagama Mara esta ubicado en la parte mas alta del Gran Valle del Rift. Este nuevo y encantador safari lodge esta inspirado en la palabra Swahili “suspendido en el aire” el cual cuanta con 2 campamentos totalmente privados y separados con 15 lujosas tiendas de campaña suspendidos en el aire con magnificas vistas de 180° cada uno alrededor del triángulo de Mara.
Al llegar al hotel Robert y yo quedamos impresionados por la increíble bienvenida que nos dio el staff y por su moderno y excepcional diseño- arquitectura que ofrece este lodge. Sin duda era algo muy diferente a lo que habíamos visitado localmente en otros parque nacionales. Si alguna vez han escuchado la frase “ heaven on earth” bueno exactamente este safari lodge es lo que representa esta frase ya que tiene unas increíbles vistas panorámicas entre el cielo y la tierra del triángulo de Mara que realmente te dejan sin aliento.
Todas las tiendas de campaña de la propiedad tienen la misma vista- ninguna es mejor que la última – las cuales cuentan con un balcón con increíbles vistas al triángulo de Mara. Sin duda una de las cosas que mas disfrutamos fue ver los increíbles atardeceres y amaneceres del balcón de la habitación al igual que en el pabellón principal donde se toman las comidas y se encuentra la biblioteca.
Para explicarles mas a detalle un día de safari empieza con un wakeup call a las 5:30am para prepárarte mentalmente que debes levantarte y meterte a la ducha para alistarte y esperar tener la suerte de ver todos los bellos animales que esperas ver. Seguido de otro segundo Knock call en tu puerta esperándote con un rico café y galletas para hacer un game drive que solo esta a 10 min en coche de la propiedad.
En mi post anterior les explique que para ir de safari hay que tener mucha paciencia, suerte y confiar en tu guía ya que esto realmente depende de ellos. Tengo que decir que nuestros guías en este viaje fueron increíbles y todavía estoy sorprendida como conocen tan bien el parque.
A pesar que no logramos ver la migración de los animales si logramos ver los 5 grandes que era lo que buscábamos, inclusive pudimos ver varios de ellos muy cerca entre ellos los leones, leopardos, búfalos y rinocerontes.
Muchos de ustedes no saben pero Kenia hace unos anos tiene una nueva política llamada “Shoot to Kill” la cual consiste en la protección de estas bellas criaturas. En anos anteriores se han visto muchos caso como algunas personas cazan y matan muchos de estos animales que tristemente hoy en día están en extinción.
En nuestro paseo en globo también pudimos ver muchos de ellos como los elefantes y los hipopótamos. Para los que me conocen saber que dar paseos en globo “ is my thing” hahaha ya que de verdad amo hacerlos. Anteriormente he hecho alrededor de 5 paseos en globo y tengo que decir que definitivamente este fue uno de mis favoritos ya que se siente una paz y una serenidad al poder presenciar este bello escenario del triangulo de Mara que ni el ojo de la cámara podría capturar.
Al ir de safari una de las actividades muy común por hacer es un Bush breakfast el cual consiste hacer un picnic con estilo jajaja. En todos nuestros game drives hicimos uno y la verdad es súper divertidos no solo por la gran compañía de tus guías que son como tu familia sino también por realmente poder sentarte y poder conversar de las experiencias con ellos. Sin duda los guías siempre tienen las mejores historias para contar para realmente pasar un buen rato riéndote y disfrutando de una rica y refrescante comida.
Uno de mis momentos favoritos durante este viaje sin duda fue experimentar el Bush dinner que es realmente asombroso. Solo imagínense un escenario de una cena al aire libre rodeados de arboles con luces y el cielo lleno de estrellas disfrutando de un rico bbq? No suena perfecto?
Si que lo es ya que sin fue algo que realmente disfrutamos. Si hay algo que me ha impresionado de Kenia es que es uno de los lugares con mas estrellas que he visitado en la noche que la verdad es realmente impresionante.
Claro que nuestra ultima experiencia en safari en este maravilloso país tenia que ser super memorable y no podía terminar sin una danza Maasai pero esta vez se dio con un atardecer de fondo al triángulo Mara , acompañado de un fogata, ricos snacks y refrescantes bebidas.
