This is beyond astonishing! And the fact that you planned it with only 15 days before going is inspirational. That’s just plan amazing ,and dare I say a bit crazy – in such a great way! I wish I had that courage. WOW! With all these photos and your beautiful write up of the trip, one thing that surprisingly caught my attention was the «rescue tax». That alone would scare me, but like you, would do it anyway! Life is about adventure, thank you for sharing yours! xo, Jessica

Wow. These photos are incredible. I have a couple of friends who have done Mount Kilimajaro. I haven’t been but have to say that these pictures can convince anyone to go very easily. The only mountain I’ve done is Mount Fuji.
I agree that you really just need to go for it. Life is short and while I try to be as patient as I can there is no time like the present to experience what is truly once in a life time. Love these tips you shared too! I’ll have to remember this for when I finally go.

This has to be one of the best travel posts I’ve read in a long time. First of all, that you found yourself through this experience is an incredible feat in itself. Secondly, you achieved something that so many travellers have on their bucket list but are afraid to do!
The luxury camping option sounds great to me, 8 days of hiking sounds wearing enough without lack of sleep and good food. Those photos from the top are absolutely incredible. What a fabulous way to welcome 2017.

Omg Marcy you made it!! Mt Kilimanjaro is one of the harder peaks to climb and you did it! The amazing team of Summit Africa certainly sounded that they made the climb so much more enjoyable!
This is on my bucket list and I would certainly opt for Summit Africa!
It is through the toughest time we learn about ourselves and grow from there. I really like the feeling of trekking to the Summit to be rewarded with the breathtaking views and just live and breath the moment. Nothing the camera can capture as it is everything from the sunrise to the emotions to the vastness of the sea of clouds to ur aching muscles!

Wow! What an adventure. I’m so glad you made it to the top. I had no idea about things the altitude can do to you like paralysis. That’s scary and why it’s so important to go with trained experts. I wonder how often they go up there, or if each guide group can only take tourists once every so often. I bet the view was breathtaking! Now you can put this on your list of accomplishments as the new Marcy you were meant to be 🙂

I’m really proud of the «new» Marcy who decided to follow her dreams instead of settling with what’s comfortable. I also love that you literally conquer your dreams and overcome fears by climbing Mount Kilimanjaro. The detailed recap of your experience was a pleasure to read and I loved the part about singing motivational songs to keep you going! And such stunning pictures with those views!

The fact that you got the opportunity to climb this incredible landmark is really amazing. What an incredible experience! The photos alone provide insight into how truly breathtaking and surreal it was! Way to go, girly! You proved not only to everyone else, but most importantly, yourself, that you are truly able to accomplish these things!

This post is so inspirational! I’m actually at the same place in my life right now because I want to explore and go find myself too. I’m currently trying to find a trip to do so. Good for you for taking risks and going out of your comfort zone. Not a lot of people can say they climbed Mount Kilimanjaro.
