Aloha!!! Today I\u2019m so excited to start my 3 weeks adventures exploration of the beautiful islands of Hawaii on the blog.<\/p>\n

Hawaii has always been on my bucket list. So, it makes me very happy to have this destination as part of my\u00a0 2019 adventures!<\/p>\n

My first stop was the main island Oahu where I had the opportunity to come and celebrate the 118th anniversary of one of the most iconic places in Waikiki: The Moana Surfrider<\/a>, a Westin hotel from the Marriott properties.<\/p>\n

About The Moana Surf Rider<\/strong><\/p>\n

Known as the “First Lady of Waikiki” member of the worldwide historic hotels that promotes the heritage and culture of historical treasures. This was the first Waikiki hotel in 1901 which marked the beginning of state tourism.\u00a0This is definitely a must to visit if you are in Oahu whether you are staying or not in the hotel.<\/p>\n

It is one of the most emblematic and ancient buildings on the island. Its elegant white facade attracts many tourists from the island which is known for its beautiful classic rocking chairs that brings thousands of memories in this historic building!<\/p>\n

This property is also known because it was where many rich and famous people stayed like: the Prince of Wales, King Edward VIII, the author Agatha Christie, Jane Standford among others.<\/p>\n

The Moana Surfrider<\/a> has 3 main buildings where the main fa\u00e7ade is the middle one that is the original building when it opened doors as the first hotel in Waikiki. This was built around a huge Banyan tree next to the beach that to this day still exists! This is the soul of the property that provides shade and entertainment of the wide options of restaurants around the property.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>\"\"<\/a>\"\"<\/a>\"\"<\/a>\"\"<\/a>\"\"<\/a>\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Rooms<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

The Moana Surfrider<\/a> has 793 rooms including 43 suites in its three towers. I had the opportunity to stay in a premier ocean view suite which was super comfortable, spacious and very nice!<\/p>\n

The view from the balcony was my favorite part as you could see Waikiki beach and Diamond Head. Watching the sunrise from the balcony is something I will always remember here! From my balcony I had the pleasure to enjoy some delicious breakfast and also watch the after light of the sunset which is also very beautiful! It really made me feel so privilege to enjoy these precious moments from my balcony.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>\"\"<\/a>\"\"<\/a>\"\"<\/a>\"\"<\/a>\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Food <\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

The Moana Surfrider<\/a> apart from offering room service it also has several options of restaurants choices:<\/p>\n

Beachhouse at the Moana<\/strong>: an elegant beachfront restaurant in the midst of beautiful Victorian architecture that offers modern classic cuisine from fresh seafood and steaks of the highest quality using the freshest Hawaiian ingredients.<\/p>\n

Veranda at the Beach House<\/strong>: open for breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea on the terrace which is a charming tradition of the island. With a lovely view of Victorian architecture and the beautiful Banyan tree with the sound of Waikiki beach.<\/p>\n

Surfrider coffee<\/strong>: located at the front of the hotel and near Waikiki beach. The Surfrider Cafe offers healthy meals that you can take with you. From special coffee, cakes, island fruits, acai bowls, salads and sandwiches with very fresh local ingredients.<\/p>\n

Beach Club Lounge: <\/strong>it offers pristine views of Waikiki Beach which offers continental breakfast and snacks during lunch and afternoon hours perfect for those people who like to eat a little late, something quick in a private lounge at the beach club.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Activities<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

This property has an amazing location as it is very centric located on Kalakaua Ave near all the best restaurants and shops. However on the property there are two things that I would recommend doing:<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The historic tour of the property<\/strong>: this is completely free which happens 2 times a week at 11 am. This takes place on the second floor of the main building in its small museum. The tour have a duration of 1 to 1.5 hours. The story is super fascinating and I totally recommend doing it.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Surf classes:<\/strong> you cannot come to Hawaii for the first time and not do a surf lesson right? next to the property there is a surf shop that offers private lessons which cost $ 100 per person for one hour. Recommendation: do not do it with a flower crown like me lol!!<\/p>\n

I want to thank Karen and the Moana Surfrider<\/a> team for making my first visit to Honolulu so memorable and fun! Happy 118th<\/sup> anniversary Moana!<\/p>\n
