Finally my diary to Belize is up YAY !!!
This destination has been in my Bucket List for the last 3 years and I can finally remove it from the list. Hmm but thinking about it I could just not remove it and leave it there forever right? as it is a destination I would not mind visiting once in a while.
If any of you guys have ever dreamed of visiting a place with turquoise waters, surroundings with beautiful, cute and colourful houses and that your principal method of transportation is the golf carts… then let me confess that this place does exist and is called Belize. Really Belize is the land of golf carts, although they also have cute bicycles the golf carts are a thing here hahaha. They have it in every shape and color possible for you for rent.
So this is how my adventures around the world with Robert continues to Belize. After our travels through Panama and Costa Rica we decided to escape one more country so we choose Belize. We both wanted to explore this country for a while. Even though Robert had more time to explored more than me, what it really matters is that we were able to spend time together before his return to Japan.
I arrived to Belize via Copa Airlines surprising they have direct flight from Panama. So I meet Robert in the airport since he was travelling from the interior of Belize and then we meet to go explore the islands. Once we got to Belize City we grab a water taxi to take us to the island of San Pedro where El Secreto hotel was picking us up.
El Secreto hotel is located in the Ambregris Caye in San Pedro but more up to the coast. Is one of the most private hotels in the area and where you can only get by boat. Maybe that’s why is called El secreto right?
El Secreto nestles 13 exclusive individual thatched roof villas with ocean view or lake view. Each with a smart combination of contemporary and traditional elements. Fine Belizean tropical woods, marble finished bathrooms with a tandem bathtub, outdoor private jacuzzi and shower patio. All the villas were made and well done equipped for guest not to leave their villas.
The hotel offers many activities from snorkelling, diving (Belize is one of the most popular destinations for diving), excursion to the ruins, fishing, helicopter tour and tour to other islands, among many others.
Robert and me decided to grab a tour to the Back Packing Caye Caulker is one of the most beautiful small towns. Actually this town was where I took all the beautiful pictures of colourful houses. After visiting this town, I wish I could have stayed a few days in this place. It is a village with a more fun atmosphere, younger and fun crowd, backpackers, more party environment as well. In this town you can find all the bars, coffee shops, ice cream shops possible. We actually found a super nice cafe near the water taxi station that become our spot while we waited for for the next boarding. Yes, believe it or not we had to make a huge line and if you guys ever come I recommend to buy and grab your waters taxis with time. Since its always packed and there is a limit by water taxi. One family lost their turn that they loose their flight. So make sure to grab water taxis on time guys!!
Another of the towns we explored was the village of San Pedro one of the principal’s towns and is also a super cute but at the same time one of busiest towns. There are 2 things I recommend you to do in this town: looks for a delicious and rich purple daisy margarita like the one on my picture (made with fruit dragon) undoubtedly one of the best and most refreshing margaritas I’ve taken. And lastly you cannot leave without visiting the Boutique Chocolate Company. This certainly is one of the best chocolates I’ve tasted.
To end our incredible adventure in Belize and actually one of the best things I have done from this half year is the helicopter tour with Tropic Air to Blue Hole. It was a truly amazing and one of the things you should do if you ever visit this destination. Robert and I were super-excited because since we knew we were going to Belize this was the first thing on our list to do and we actually did it and believe me we don’t have any regrets.
I hope you enjoyed my photos and my trip to this heavenly destination! Soon I’ll be showing pictures of my next adventure. Any guess where it will be? just to give you guys a clue involves a lot of tequila and tacos wey lol
Thanks for reading and have great Tuesday travellers,
